Natashia Rapp and Emily Fultz met with the Gallia County Commissioners, Dana Glassburn, the Director of Gallia County JFS, and Dr. Denise Shockley of the Gallia ESC to sign a contract to hire a peer mentor in Gallia County. This contract will support the creation of a peer mentor position for the explicit purpose of supporting parents who are transitioning from public assistance.
The peer mentor role will share their lived experience and support families as they acquire important life skills in budgeting, utilizing healthcare, and obtaining employment to support their families.
