Alex Bishara

Board Member

Alex Bishara, MSW, LISW, LCDC III, ICADC. Alex received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2001 and Masters of Social Work in 2010 and both from The Ohio State University.  After providing 5 years of substance abuse counseling early in his career, Alex moved into program management.  Over the next 10 years he opened and directed four outpatient substance abuse and mental health centers serving nine counties across Ohio.   The majority of Alex’s 20 years’ experience in Behavioral Health has been focused on program management and development and spans the continuum, from prevention to residential treatment services.  Alex currently leads Behavioral Health in Behavioral Health Community Engagement efforts for Big Lots Behavioral Health Services at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Alex is an Ohio Child Welfare Training Program (OCWTP) trainer for the University of Cincinnati focused on the intersection of substance use disorder and child welfare  for the.  In addition to serving on various state and not-for-profit boards, Alex was previously a kinship and foster parent in Franklin County.

Alex’s current interests include developing collaborative, coordinated and integrated systems of care for children and families with behavioral health conditions in Ohio.
