NAMI Ohio Family Peer Support Training

On behalf of NAMI Ohio, ISBH is hosting Family Peer Support Training sessions. The 40-hour training, accepted by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, will support the workforce development of certified family peer supporters in Ohio.

Each training, consisting of three days of in-person participation and two days of virtual participation, will cover the core competencies of family peer support as outlined by the National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health to ensure that individuals employed as family peer supporters in Ohio promote ethical and best practice within the profession. Participants must complete the full 40-hour training to be eligible for state certification.

Below are the training details for the date chosen, as well as the participant registration link for training.

 

Dates for training:

In-person

  •         Tuesday, September 13th through Thursday, September 15th 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Virtually via Zoom

  •         Monday, September 26th and Tuesday, September 27th, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

 

Location for the in-person portion of training:

Each training session can accommodate up to 14 participants. Please share the training details with your community partners and any agencies in neighboring counties that may be interested. There is no cost for the training and NAMI will provide all training materials. NAMI Ohio will also provide lunch for each day of in-person training and lodging for any participants travelling an hour or more to the training site.
